The first thing on a sports bra card is how hard it works, because a bra for a run and a bra for a walk are two different objects that share a name. The high-impact bra is the one for a run or a HIIT class: wide straps that spread the load across the shoulders, a modified racerback that leaves the arms free, a hook-and-eye closure at the back so it goes on like an everyday bra, and pads you can take out. The size run on it reaches 3XL.

The three-pack is the other end of the shelf. A seamless knit with criss-cross straps and a light lift, in black, light grey and navy, for a walk, a class, a Sunday. The molded-cup racerback sits between, with a cup that is sewn in and straps that adjust. Around them are the tanks: a longline tank with a shelf bra and pads, cut long enough to wear on its own over a legging, a halter with an open back for Pilates, and the double-lined bodysuit that does the work of a top and a smoothing layer in one.
